Got some article on facebook whether German as a scientific language is sidelined in favour of English. Some bla bla here and more bla bla there..
My thoughts on this one:
science is all about international collaboration these days. collaboration and the sharing of information need some kind of mutually understood means to collaborate and share scientific progress using some unifying language. this means a language that can bring non-native speakers together. given the ubiquity of non-native English compared to German, this is only to be expected. Plus, you never know, soon enough Chinese might replace English as that binding language given their current economical power and sheer numbers of people living in China natively.
Furthermore, if one claims to have the wits to be called a scientist, one surely can pick up another language in no time.

Believe what you want, as long as you don't mutilate your daughters genitals by doing it. You are programmed to strife for happiness. You can only find it without effort. Have fun. You not only deserve it. You need it. There is no reason for anything. But there is fun in trying to find one.
